Reviews
We went to this Tiki Bar without a reservation, but they were able to accommodate our group of three, which was great. The experience was a lot of fun and really immersive. They had some fun effects like shipwrecks and a volcano eruption with water spraying, which made the atmosphere unique and entertaining. The non-alcoholic options are a little limited with only three choices, so it would be nice to see more added in the future. Otherwise, they have a fun drink selection and it was a great time overall. The staff was amazing, and Jonathan was especially an MVP. He was so helpful, friendly, and made the experience even better!
I really wanted to love this place more than I did. The problem is that it has been over-hyped so the bar was set a little high. The build-out was a little disappointing by traditional tiki bar standards. We didn't eat there but the drinks were good and the mugs were really cool. Parking and getting anywhere in Disneyland is a chore, so this isn't a place you'd make a point to go to, unless you were already at Disneyland.
Trader Sam's is an experience I recommend every Disneyland visitor to try at least once. I've gone here a handful of times and it's always a great time. Reservations are highly recommended but walk ups can be available depending on how busy they are. Keep in mind that to get a table inside, you will have to wait longer. The staff has always been welcoming, the food has been solid, and the drinks are yummy.
Absolutely love Trader Sam’s. It’s an enjoyable place to be but unfortunately due to the refurbishments, we had to sit outside. But I loved the table setting outside. We went once for quick service and that was good fun, but the next time we went, we managed to book a table which was a great experience with the live music right next to us. Unfortunately someone had spilled their sticky drink on the floor under us so we all had sticky feet. A really kind server tried to help us, who was waiting at a different section, but it was at this time that we realised that our original and very enthusiastic staff member had abandoned us. We had a different server every time, with the service unfortunately not being the best. However, we didn’t let it detract away from the great food and experience. The kids loved the salmon and chicken strips, while the adults had burgers. The burger was a bit dry but it was full of flavour and the chips were awesome.
Been wanting to try Trader Sam's for years. While it's not the easiest place to find, we made our way over and got some counter seats within 45 minutes of waiting. Which ain't too bad considering how long it can really be. The staff were very friendly and the decor was spot on. I enjoyed the little shows and quips for each drink that they put on when someone ordered them. Oh and the mugs were really cool. However, the drinks themselves were very lackluster and over expensive. I use painkillers as my baseline and I just didn't enjoy it. I had a few others as well but the balance of flavors weren't synchronizing. I was also extremely surprised to see Smirnoff and Bacardi so openly used on very expensive house drinks on the menu. Now you should very much still come here and make your own opinion but I will more than likely not return.
