We have stayed at Charter Club quite a few years and had a horrendous experience during our Christmas stay. What started as a few small bugs quickly turned into a serious issue, with seeing 20+ cockroaches throughout the kitchen and living area—on counters, floors, walls, and coming out from behind appliances. It became clear this could not have been an isolated incident and made the stay extremely uncomfortable, to the point where our kids did not want to go back to there room to sleep. This is not a place where I would expect to pick up the toaster and have multiple cockroaches scatter. This is not a place where I would expect to have memories of cockroaches crawling over our Christmas candy canes, in our silver wear drawer, or emerging from appliances after turning off the lights for 10 seconds. Truly Awful. We reported it to the front desk, and while the General Manager was as helpful as he could be, overall situation should never have gotten to that point. I submitted a formal complaint to the Board over a month ago and have not received any response, which is very disappointing. I personally would not expect an experience like this from a 2 star or a 1 star hotel. In my conversation with the GM, he mentioned that they do pest control once or twice a year. In comparison, the next door building does much more frequent prevention tactics. This is a cost cutting, management control policy that needs to be addressed. Even now with their response, they continue to downplay and deny that there is an issue, which explains how the issue has gotten so bad. In response to the reply: The day before I took the attached pictures and video, the gm told me the same thing, they had examined the room and there was no further sign of bugs. Clearly either someone doesn't know what to look for, or someone is being dishonest.
Great decor. Colors beachy with nice art work, herons and sand hill cranes. Quick walk to beach. Pool and hot tub with wonderful temperatures. Room with Non working microwave, but was replaced the same day. Newer appliances with an in refrigerator ice maker. Only big negative was room was above the luggage cart area and laundry. Not quiet sitting on patio in am with coffee.
We stayed here for a week and it was a fun experience. The rooms are great and laid out perfectly for two couples. We usually make breakfast and lunch at the condo, and go out for dinner. Lots of dinner choices nearby. The pool area was great and we spent time there every day. Beach access was easy. Chair and umbrella rental available from 3rd party on the beach dominate driving in, might want to bring your own to save $150/week for 2 chairs with umbrella. Everything was very clean and the staff was super responsive.
Nice retro style condo complex located on the Gulf. The units have entrances on an outdoor balcony. Elevators are also located outside. They are rather small and a bit slow, you can expect to to wait a while for them when times are busy. The two bedroom units are spacious and nicely decorated. The kitchen is large and has all the appliances you’ll need to entertain. The bathrooms are dated but functional. The king bed we had was definitely firm and left my wife and I a bit achy in the morning. Electrical outlets definitely updating. Plugs actually fell right out of them without any reason? Not good. The balcony looking out on the Gulf is huge and four chairs, a chaise and a large table suitable for dining. Pool are is nice but rather small for a resort, but the star of the show is the “private” beach access out to the wonderful beach. Overall this is a great place to stay for a relaxing vacation.
3 years in a row coming here. Condos are very clean but dated. Restaurants are wonderful never have to wait. Good people no problems.
