My boyfriend, son and I took a charter with Captain John and Dave last week. We had such a fantastic time! John and Dave are incredibly knowledgeable about the local waters. We got to fish at 4 different beautiful spots and even saw dolphins and sea turtles! They were so patient and engaging with my son, teaching him about the bait, how to properly hook and reel the fish and explained all about the different species of fish. We caught lots of fish to take home and Capt. John even gave us a recommendation of a nearby restaurant that would cook our fresh catch! We can’t wait to go again. I highly recommend them!
Captain Johnny was excellent! A wealth of knowledge about marine life, oceans, and the Florida ecosystem. Our fishing experience was fantastic. Captain Johnny put us on some grouper, yellow tail, Spanish mackerel, and then got us on some big fish. Excellent Captain, boat, and crew!
We booked a charter with Johnny at Starlight charters and he was great! We went with our friends and their children, both Johnny and his first mate were very friendly and we caught a dozen different species of fish, they had all the licenses we needed. They cleaned the fish and even recommended some different spots to take the fish to cook. Great charter with a family friendly atmosphere we highly recommend Johnny and his crew!
This is our 3rd time fishing with Captain John. Each time to a different spot. Captain John knows the waters, and where the fish are most likely to be hanging out. We had a fish on the line within a minute this trip, but a hungry barracuda snatched it up, before we got it in the boat. So cool to have witnessed that. Nature, beautiful and brutal at the same time. As a fellow Captain, I can attest that Captain John takes your safety seriously. We have caught a black tip shark, a Goliath Grouper, and a large variety of other smaller fish with Captain John. He supplies the bait, equipment, a blanket license for your whole group and the knowledge that only a Naples native would know. Definitely recommend. Thanks Captain John for another great day on the water.
Captain Johnny took us out on his boat for the day.... Let me say, we had a fantastic time!! He took us to a little hidden gem spot on the island to do some swimming and shelling (it was our choice to do that verse going out fishing which he was also able to accommodate). He is very knowledgeable of the marine life and even caught a little seahorse in his hands for us to see! Super impressed and can't wait to go out again! Thanks again Starlight Charters for a great day in the sun!!!
