6/3/26 Wednesday @2 PM We walked over from the beach and the main area is under construction, but the little Miguelito was open. Five of us sat outside, we had separate orders up front, and our server was helpful with water, lemons, straws, warm chips, cheese sauce, and salsa. It was better than the terrible chicken potato chip mess we had at the Sun Deck! We each tried different things. One friend requested melted cheese on her food and they were very nice and accomodated. I asked about a margarita with Mezcal and they made it for me. The margaritas were on the small side, but it was tasty. We had cloth napkins and silverware. They did a good job. Everything was hot and delicious. I got the pork and they offered to bring a couple of corn and flour tortillas. I would come here again. There appeared to be street parking, but it was full. There are souvineer shops nearby and a Chipotle across the street.

Miguel's Cocina offers very different Mexican food than what we're used to back in North Carolina. It is still good, has a lil' kick, and is authentic (to us at least)! Salsa is always complimentary, but so is cheese dip (queso)! Back in NC they make you pay for that. They are both a bit spicy, but are both fresh (not bought). I tried the carne asada. The steak was surprisingly VERY tender, and had great flavor. They give you a choice of either corn or flour tortillas to make a taco out of it. The rice was so good that I didn't need to put anything on it, and refried beans were great as well! My grandmother's taco salad was great as well! One thing that I like about California is that you can actually eat outside! If you tried to eat outside in coastal NC or anywhere on the southeastern coast, nats, flies, and mosquitoes would be all over you. There is very little of that here. The food comes out fast, and service is professional and sincere! If you're in San Diego or on Coronado Island, this is the place for Mexican! (Please note: I am moving my reviews from Yelp to Google, which means you may also see this review on Yelp. I visited this business April 2026).

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Miguel’s is one of those places that feels like home. My family and I have been coming here for over 13 years, and it’s still just as amazing every single time. The food is consistently delicious—from the flavorful enchiladas to the tacos and all the sides (the rice, beans, and chips + salsa never miss!). Everything comes out fresh, full of flavor, and you can tell they put care into every plate. But what really keeps us coming back year after year is the experience. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the service is always friendly, and it’s the perfect place to gather with family and make memories. Places like this are hard to find—great food, great people, and over a decade of consistency. Miguel’s will always be a go-to for us. Highly recommend!

We were a bachelorette group who came in for a Sunday brunch. Really liked the patio seating and the food was ok, just wanted to make some remarks: 1. Friend asked for Diet Coke which the waiter took very long to bring 2. Two persons in group ordered breakfast hash and steaks, but neither received any potatoes in their dishes. Upon inquiry about the situation, the waiter brought back a plate of potato and asked them to share?? Absolutely unacceptable. Though the issue was resolved afterwards, but come on bruh solve it right the first time. 3. The size of my hangsteak was pathetic. Not to mention, it was placed *below* my eggs as shown in the pictures. You know what you were doing. 4. Two persons check came out incorrectly, and they were told to contact for correction after the payment goes through. Our waiter was nice and all, but these hiccups really made the experience not so great. It’s a shame really cause the food wasn’t bad at all, but the service didn’t feel professional.

Very nice spot with a ton of outdoor seating in a small enclosed plaza. Super homey, great service, very good food. I got the Carnitas one day, and the Pork Adobado another day. Usually I'm a car it's guy, but the Adobado Fajitas may have been the best pork I ever had. Please try it.
