This place wasn’t too bad but I forsure wouldn’t go there again. The decor is very “pop diva culture” which is very niche that’s probably the only thing I liked (and they don’t have a cover fee) but the male bartender was very rude, stand offish and condescending. Make us feel like we were stupid. And his interactions with us and other patrons just made us get up and leave. Also the drink prices were crazy for the small portion they give
Great neighborhood queer bar with friendly service, cheap drinks and clean gender-neutral restrooms. I also love their Cajun food options, especially the spicy sausage.
Food was so delicious! I had the po' boy chicken sandwich... I don't know if it was because I was hungry or because it was so good but I ate the whole thing! Popcorn chicken was nice and juicy. Drinks were great too. They have the premade (strong) slushy like drinks. Bartender was super awesome and sweet. Took his time with us as we tried to decide what we wanted and acknowledged us when we came back to order another round. Owner came by since we were out on the patio to see if we needed anything and cleared away glasses/bottles. Had a great time and enjoyed the atmosphere. Great sayings and slogans throughout.
We stopped in on a Friday after eating in a nearby restaurant, just looking for a spot to sit and have a drink. They were out of several of the specialty drinks on the menu and what my daughter ended up with was just okay, but the service was friendly and the overall vibe was good. Then, unexpectedly, it turned out there was a drag show starting. The hostess was amazing and the whole show was fun. Not what I had expected for our evening but it was great!
Bayou is a campy little dive bar that looks exactly like it sounds (though it is very clean.) music is great, and the bartenders are hot & personable. The food is typical bar food but you get a lot for the price. I ordered the platter which had a little bit of fried everything and a beer for under $20. I've been there 3 times and would go back again. Enjoy!
